Understand the system of international sanctions and embargoes created to mitigate legal and reputational risks.
The course first introduces the concept of international sanctions and embargoes in order to focus on the characteristics of UN, US, EU and Swiss sanctions. It specifically deals with the issue of the extraterritoriality of US sanctions and the consequences on the financial industry.
The second part of the training describes the requirements of organisational measures that financial institutions must undertake including the rules of conduct the Relationship Manager must follow while dealing with transactions under international sanctions.
Using practical cases, the Relationship Manager will learn to get right reflexes and to ask the right questions before a business relationship or transactions related to sanctions.
